When:
November 14, 2022 – November 20, 2022 all-day
2022-11-14T00:00:00-08:00
2022-11-21T00:00:00-08:00

This FLO MicroCourse will teach you the best ways to use multimedia to promote active learning in a hybrid course to help increase student engagement, layer coursework, and improve the value of face-to-face time. You’ll learn how to:

  • Create a community in an online environment.
  • Explore different types of multimedia that can enhance both course delivery and accessibility.
  • Develop an activity for student engagement to use in your hybrid course.

There will be two live and interactive sessions (also recorded): Monday, November 14, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. PT, and Friday, November 18, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. PT. You will also need to put aside an hour a day to work on the course materials and contribute to the course discussion.

Your FLO facilitator for this course is Kate Milne. Kate (she/her) is a post-secondary instructor at Douglas College. She also owns a consulting business where she has been designing and building online and hybrid courses for government and non-profit clients since 2011. She believes hybrid courses can be a highly effective way to deliver course material while providing flexibility to learners.

This MicroCourse has a non-refundable registration fee of $25.
