It’s that time of year when post-secondary educators put their heads together to talk about their work and experiences with communities of practice. BCcampus will host the 2011 Online Community Enthusiasts Day May 12 in Vancouver.
This year’s theme is “Planning Excellent Community Events” and will be a full day of talking about and experiencing various event formats, strategies and technologies. This one-day gathering is open to anyone interested in online communities, particularly those in post-secondary education.
Where: Vancouver, Creekside Community Centre, 1 Athletes Way (near Science World)
When: May 12, 2011. Plan for 9:00 – 4:00, with the possibility of continuing the conversation elsewhere afterward.
Cost: The event is free and lunch is provided, so your costs include travel.
Here’s your check list:
- Go to the SCoPE SIG (Special Interest Group) and respond to the poll to let us know if you plan to attend. You’ll need to create an account on the SCoPE site — a quick process.
- Subscribe to the “OCE2011 Gathering: Before and After” forum in the SIG. More details about the day will be posted in there.
- Pass this invitation on to others you think would be interested in attending.
