Computer science students: apply to mentor with OER Foundation for Google Summer of Code

Our collaborator in all things open in the southern hemisphere, Wayne Mackintosh, has sent word the OER Foundation has been selected as a mentor organisation for this year’s Google Summer of Code.

This is a great opportunity for students to develop code during the Northern summer break while contributing to technology improvement of the OERu infrastructure. If selected, students can earn a stipend of USD5,500.

BCcampus encourages our partners in B.C post-secondary institutions to bring this opportunity to the attention of computer science departments who may know of students looking for a worthwhile challenge.

Registrations for project proposals will open on March 10, 2014. In the mean time, interested students can research ideas and post questions on various forums listed on the WikiEducator page.
