We are gearing up for the next Facilitating Learning Online (FLO) workshop, scheduled for September 28 – October 30, 2015.
Sylvia Riessner and Lucas Wright will be co-facilitating the next session of FLO, introducing research-based adult and online learning concepts, principles, and strategies to help educators currently employed in the B.C. post-secondary system build the skills needed to effectively facilitate online learning. This small-group, free course features OER workshop materials and is delivered over five weeks online, mostly asynchronous with a few scheduled synchronous sessions.
Since 2013, BCcampus has offered the Facilitating Learning Online (FLO) workshop (previously known as Instructional Skills Workshop Online) seven times, and we now have over 65 grads, 13 of which have gone on to complete the Facilitator Development Online (FDO) workshop.
Feel free to browse the OER version of the workshop to get a sense of the activities and learning outcomes. Register your interest for the September FLO by completing this form, as well as the pre-workshop survey. Seats are offered to the first 15 participants currently employed at a public British Columbia post-secondary institution.
