The annual Horizon Report, produced by the New Media Consortium, identifies and describes emerging technologies likely to have an impact on teaching and learning in higher education over the next five years.

Technologies to watch include:
– mobile computing
– open content
– electronic books
– simple augmented reality
– gesture-based computing, and
– visual data analysis
