The theme for this year’s Canadian Network Innovation in Education conference at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops is: Confluences: Spaces, Places & Cultures for Innovative Learning
The call for proposals is open until February 14 and the conference organizers encourage any interesting proposals that highlight innovative learning.
CNIE is looking for proposals directly connected to this year’s theme along with those that have currency and relevance to the education field.
The theme is open-ended, engaging and encompasses a wide variety of presentations and discussions.
We encourage you to explore your own confluences of spaces, places and cultures and the creativity they bring to the learning process.
Spaces: virtual, face to face and where the two intersect, mobile learning, influence of space on teaching and professional practice, new spaces and innovation, accessibility, collaboration, identity.
Places: places and pedagogy, locales, institutions, leadership and change, learning communities, unique opportunities, learning journeys, beyond the walls, open access, innovative projects, classroom design, places of the future
Cultures: change agents, advocates for openness, research practices, professional learning, sector or discipline-based contexts, global – intercultural, international and interdisciplinary opportunities, examining traditions.

- Acceptances announced: March 7, 2014
- Conference registration deadline for speakers/presenters: April 7, 2014
- CNIE 2014 Conference at Thompson Rivers University: May 14-16, 2014
