Who else will be at the first-ever Festival of Learning for B.C.’s higher education communities?

Faculty, sessional instructors, TAs, students, educational developers, instructional designers, educational technologists, leaders, librarians, copyright officers, writing centre coordinators, workshop facilitators, educational consultants, and others who work in support of teaching and learning in post-secondary education in British Columbia.

The Festival of Learning invites a number of B.C. higher ed’s existing groups and established annual events into one grand festival experience. If you’ve attended any of the following events in the past, the Festival of Learning will be of interest for your Spring 2016 professional learning.

  • Symposium: Scholarly Teaching & Learning
  • Intensive: Scholarly Inquiry into Teaching & Learning – Design your research project
  • Educational Technology Users Group Spring & Fall Workshops (ETUG)
  • BCcampus Open Textbook Annual Spring Summit
  • British Columbia Teaching & Learning Network (BCTLN) Professional Development gatherings

The event will combine features of traditional conferences (speakers, presentations, etc. ), with fun and unique formats like salons, studios, cafes, and maker faires.

The Festival schedule will also include half or whole-day workshops focussed on specific topics (e.g., Course Redesign, Open Pedagogy, Liberating Structures), as well as a variety of social events and spaces for folks to connect and expand their networks.
