We are excited to bring Carolee Clyne and Ross McKerlich to the BCcampus Open Education team. Our goal with the regional representatives is to provide focused support to smaller institutions in the North and Interior to implement and institutionalize the use of open education. Carolee and Ross will be working with institutions to identify the barriers and challenges faced in the North and Interior, respectively. Through their work, we will be able to understand how we can best support and expand BCcampus’ mission of improving student learning through accessible education in these regions.

Carolee Clyne, Open Education Advisor, Regional Representative for the North with BCcampus
Since 1993, Carolee has been working in roles providing support in technology, classrooms, library, post-secondary governance and most recently classroom design based on Universal Design for Learning at the University of Northern British Columbia and the College of New Caledonia. Supporting education from a variety of perspectives, she wants to help create educational opportunities that are available to everyone.

Ross McKerlich, Open Education Advisor, Regional Representative for the Interior with BCcampus
Ross joins us from Okanagan College in Kelowna, where he was an education technology coordinator and a founding member of the college’s open ed group. Ross got his start in open education in 2011 when researching open education with Athabasca University. He enjoys the emerging nature of the field and the chance to remove barriers for learning. Ross is also active in the Education Technology Users Group (ETUG), the BCcampus Advisory Group, and the FLO group of open courses.
