BCcampus is inviting submissions to enhance the B.C. Digital Literacy Collection. We are seeking resources that reflect one or more of the eight competencies of the B.C. Digital Literacy Framework and support post-secondary students’ learning. The goal is to enrich our collection of assignments and activities post-secondary educators can adopt, adapt, and use in their own courses.    

Formats

  • Individual or group learning activities
  • Assignments, lesson plans, and exercises aligned with course content 
  • Accompanying assessment tools (rubrics and other evaluation tools or frameworks) 

Note: Activities may be designed to be assessed by self, peers, or instructor.  

Topics

  • Generative AI (Artificial Intelligence) 
  • Algorithmic literacy 
  • Digital wellbeing 
  • Community-based learning 
  • Any discipline-specific resources supporting the development of the eight competencies in the B.C. Digital Literacy Framework 

Criteria

All materials submitted must be: 

Compensation

We are pleased to offer compensation according to the scope or size of the materials: 

  • Type 1 ($500) – shorter assignments or activities with learning outcomes, clear instructions for students and a simple rubric or other marking guide for instructors. 
  • Type 2 ($1000) – longer assignments, a collection of learning activities, or assignments with outcomes, clear instructions for students and a simple rubric or other marking guide for instructors AND additional supplementary teaching materials (e.g., slides, list of related openly licensed online resources). 
  • Type 3 ($2000) – integrated unit or module with robust learning activities, learning materials and assessments. 

We welcome multiple submissions, however, any one person can only receive a maximum of $2000. 

Timeline

  • August – December 19, 2024 – Call for open content open
  • December 20, 2024 – Deadline for submissions
  • January 6 – 17, 2025 – All submissions reviewed
  • February 14, 2025 – Final deadline for revised submissions
