BCcampus is committed to promoting access and removing barriers to professional development for educators who desire to be more effective, engaging, and inclusive with their online facilitation. To support this development, BCcampus has developed Facilitating Learning Online (FLO), a family of courses designed to expand and enhance online facilitation skills. The courses offer engaging learning experiences that explore approaches and solutions to help participants become more effective online instructors. These courses are grounded in research about teaching and learning online and are designed for interaction by experienced learning designers and educators.
Since January 2018 the intention of the FLO offerings has been to equip educators with both tools to apply in their practice and an opportunity to build a community of like-minded learners who are passionate about FLO. Our suite of offerings includes:
- FLO MicroCourses: Intensive one-week courses focused on high-interest, useful topics
- FLO Fridays: One-hour facilitated online synchronous sessions (launched in 2020)
- FLO Labs: Three-hour experiential synchronous workshops

EDI statement
BCcampus is committed to inclusion. From the workplace to our learning spaces, we value diversity and are actively working to decolonize our organization and the ways in which we collaborate with others. We believe a more diverse team will help us better support the individuals and communities we work with.
We encourage applications from members of groups with historical and/or current barriers to equity, including but not limited to:
- First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and all other Indigenous Peoples
- Members of groups that commonly experience discrimination due to race, ancestry, colour, religion and/or spiritual beliefs, or place of origin
- Persons with visible and/or invisible (physical and/or mental) disabilities
- Persons who identify as women
- Persons of marginalized sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions
We recognize many of these identities intersect and therefore equity, diversity, and inclusion can be complex. We value the contributions each person brings and are committed to ensuring full and equal participation for all in our community.
