BCcampus is offering a new sponsorship program to support effective teaching and learning practices for faculty and instructional staff at B.C. public post-secondary institutions (PSI). Sponsorships of up to $1000 will be awarded for the 2025-26 academic year. 

Who is Eligible to Apply

Applications must come from B.C. public post-secondary institutions and should support teaching and learning professional development hosted at or by the institution. Examples of what this funding could be used for include, but are not limited to:

  • Honoraria for guest speakers at a local teaching and learning day event 
  • Catering to host a “sprint” session with educators on implementing authentic assessment practices 
  • A workshop or webinar to advance educational technology in support of student learning, or current, high-interest topics e.g. innovative approaches to assessment, experiential and place-based learning, supporting faculty and instructor well-being 
  • Collaborative presentations by instructional designers and students on engaging learning design 
  • Faculty-led conversation about faculty well-being in post-secondary education 
  • Multi-institution gathering to share resources and expertise on a key topic 

Preference will be given to applications that: 

  • Are open to other B.C. PSIs to join 
  • Involve two or more B.C. PSIs in hosting and planning 
  • Aim to advance effective teaching and learning practices and topics aligned with BCcampus’ mandate (e.g, digital literacy, scholarly teaching, student engagement) 

As part of the funding agreement, please acknowledge BCcampus by displaying our logo on promotional materials or website and by providing verbal acknowledgement during any event.   

Timeline and Process

  • Submit an online application by July 14
  • Successful candidates will be notified by July 18
  • Have your finance department create an invoice for $AMOUNT for a Teaching & Learning Sponsorship, made out to “SFU-BCcampus.” Send to finance@bccampus.ca and cc: llee@bccampus.ca. Payment will come from Simon Fraser University, and their payment terms are 30 days from the invoice date. You may send the invoice as soon as you are able: you do not need to wait until you incur expenses or the event takes place. 
  • After the event: submit a summary of the event or offering (e.g. attendance, highlights).
