BCcampus cares about encouraging access and removing barriers to professional development for educators. To help educators in B.C. become effective facilitators of learning online, we have developed a family of courses designed to expand and enhance online facilitation skills. Facilitating Learning Online (FLO) courses offer engaging learning experiences that explore approaches, understandings, and solutions to help participants become effective online instructors. FLO courses are grounded in research about teaching and learning online and have been designed by experienced learning designers and educators. Since January 2018, we have developed and offered several FLO MicroCourses — intensive one-week courses focused on high-interest, useful topics.

BCcampus is inviting expressions of interest from post-secondary educators in British Columbia to develop and deliver a new FLO MicroCourse.

The call is seeking subject matter expertise in one of the following focus areas:

  1. Career development and workplace-integrated learning
  2. Diversity, equity, and inclusion
  3. Indigenization
  4. Interculturalization
  5. Micro-credentialing
  6. Open pedagogy

The contract for one FLO MicroCourse is $1000 plus applicable taxes. The contract includes course development, pilot delivery, and sharing of the MicroCourse as an OER.

Please submit your EOI letter and course outline (maximum 2 pages). Please include learning outcomes, the approximate required student participation time, activities and assignment(s) to be completed, and synchronous session(s) if applicable.

Selection is determined by an internal review committee at BCcampus. If you have further questions, please email Helena Prins at hprins@bccampus.ca.
