Encouraging technological autonomy

The BC Open EdTech Collaborative (OpenETC) is a community of educators, technologists, designers, and enthusiasts working together to improve the open education infrastructure for post-secondary institutions in British Columbia.

Through a common vision and a shared willingness to actively participate, the OpenETC are identifying, analyzing, and encouraging intelligent solutions to enable a sustainable EdTech environment for B.C.’s faculty and students.

The engaged community is actively working towards practical solutions that enable open pedagogies; inter-institutional collaboration; and technological autonomy for students, faculty, and institutions. Through a sustainable infrastructure, built with open source software, OpenETC hopes to lower barriers to participation on the open web and make it possible for local educators to make informed decisions about open-source teaching and learning applications.
