The BC Educational Technology User’s Group – Innovating Higher Learning Through Technology
BCcampus sponsors the Educational Technology Users Group (ETUG), a community of BC post-secondary educators and educational technology practitioners. ETUG members collaborate to improve learning and teaching technology in post-secondary institutes across the province.
“This year ETUG celebrated its 15th anniversary as a grassroots group of colleagues keen to share ideas and best practices in educational technology,” explains Leva Lee, ETUG Manager. “Thanks to the hard work and ongoing effort of our Steering Committee and the enthusiasm of our members, ETUG is going strong. We have growing interest in our popular Spring and Fall workshops and connect in between these face-to-face workshops in our online community.”
“Our focus at the moment is to raise awareness about our Call for Nominations for our two awards programs and our upcoming Spring Workshop, June 7th and 8th at the University of Victoria,” says Tracy Roberts, ETUG Steering Committee Chair, “We’ve got lots of great plans underway and we will be providing more opportunities for members to get involved with ETUG in 2010.”
To encourage innovation and support best practices, ETUG’s Steering Committee holds events such as:
- Annual face-to-face workshops held in the Spring and Fall
- Annual BC Innovation Awards in Educational Technology
- Online discussions on topics of interest to members
- Real-time, web-based events
- Institutional updates and member news and tips
For more information on ETUG, please visit: www.etug.ca or contact Leva Lee. New members are always welcome!
