Sarah’s action-based research will focus on two concepts: 1) the role of creative narrative-based media (specifically videos and podcasts) as tools for overcoming barriers to inclusive and equal education in online and blended learning models, and 2) the potential for relational pedagogical approaches (with emphasis on building and transforming relationships between teachers and learners, between institutions and communities, and within learning communities) in supporting diverse, inclusive, and equal online and blended learning environments.

“Narrative-based media tools harness the strengths of storytelling in teaching and learning as a medium that allows for diverse ways of knowing and being in a learning environment, which can further support notions of inclusivity and access.” —Sarah Van Borek
