The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) invites proposals for presentations at its 35th Annual Conference,Achieving Harmony: Tuning into Practice. The conference will be held at the Westin Bayshore Hotel in downtown Vancouver from June 16-19, 2015.

The role of the educator is key to fostering learning experiences that support and sustain the development of lifelong learners and leaders in our society. At the 2015 STLHE conference, we will investigate the diversity of issues converging in higher education while acknowledging that the dissonance we can encounter in our work as educators is an opportunity to create transformative learning experiences for us and our students. We invite our higher education colleagues to Canada’s West Coast to share their experiences and engage in scholarly inquiry into student learning to enable us to “fine-tune” our practice as educators, educational developers and educational leaders.

Multi-disciplinary scholarly approaches to transforming teaching and learning are welcome, as are proposals that create opportunities for dynamic dialogue. Individuals are invited to provide presentations, interactive workshops, round table discussions, and posters that stimulate discussion around the theme Achieving Harmony: Tuning into Practice.

The theme invites participants to speak to achieving harmony or tuning into practice in areas related to:

  • Teaching, assessment and evaluation
  • Curriculum design and learning outcomes
  • Educational development
  • Leadership in teaching and learning
  • Learning environments & technology integration
  • Disciplines, language, and culture
  • Learners considerations and support
  • Research, scholarly inquiry and reflective practice

We look forward to seeing you in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2015!
