Over the next three years BCcampus will explore the intersection of Generative AI and open education. We will delve into the potential of AI to enhance open educational resources, including the development of an AI study tool to support the openly licensed learning materials in the B.C. Open Collection. This initiative is supported by a recent grant from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.

The Hewlett Foundation’s consistent trust and support have been instrumental in enabling BCcampus to champion Open Educational Resources (OER) and Open Educational Practice (OEP). Their vision aligns with our commitment to breaking down barriers for students and fostering innovative pedagogical approaches. This latest grant reflects our shared belief in the transformative power of open education to create a more equitable and effective learning environment.
