Join Katherine Miller (Librarian, Woodward Library), and Will Engle (Strategist, Open Education Initiatives) on August 28th for an interactive webinar discussing Wikipedia Edit-a-thons, the process of editing Wikipedia and how to prepare for hosting or participating in a Wiki-edit-a-thon.
Editing Wikipedia is a way for faculty, students and staff to engage in open collaboration, and contribute to public knowledge. Wikipedia Edit-a-thons improve the encyclopedia and can be a great way to work with the platform and consider how it might be used in your courses or practice.

Wikipedia Edit-a-thon for Science Literacy
To celebrate National Science Literacy Week, September 18-25, libraries and other organizations will be highlighting Canadian Science and Scientists with a variety of events. In B.C., academic libraries and BCcampus, librarians and other educators are partnering on a Wikipedia Edit-athon. The Wikipedia Edit-a-thon will be hosted by libraries at BCIT, Douglas College, KPU, SFU, and UBC (and perhaps more institutions) on September 18th. The event is free. Please register in advance by contacting the organizer at your institution directly.
