Are you faced with facilitating synchronous sessions online for the first time? Do you want to get better and more confident about planning meaningful synchronous sessions for your students?
BCcampus would like to support faculty in their pivot to facilitating learning online. We are offering FLO-Synchronous for FREE in May 2020! This course will introduce you to best practice strategies to plan, facilitate and follow-up after facilitating synchronous online learning events.
FLO Synchronous is a 3-week course and runs May 11-31, 2020. It will take place primarily in Moodle and Blackboard Collaborate.
Participants can choose to take this course either as a Reviewing Participant (Track 1) or as a Practicing Facilitator (Track 2). This flexibility allows you to choose what kind of learning is best for you at this time – whether you’d like to spend your time in the course discussing best practice concepts, reviewing examples of synchronous online facilitation and providing feedback, or “getting your feet wet,” planning for and facilitating a short synchronous online event and receiving feedback.
Participants could expect to spend 6 to 8 hours per week on a mixture of synchronous and asynchronous online activities throughout.
Ross McKerlich and Asif Devji will be the facilitators for FLO Synchronous.
