FLO MicroCourse: Hybrid Learning

September 19, 2022 – September 25, 2022 all-day

This FLO MicroCourse will teach you the key considerations for designing a hybrid course. Learn about creating a shared experience for students that combines online and in-person learning. You’ll learn how to:

  • Create community in an online environment.
  • Explore different types of multimedia that can enhance both course delivery and accessibility.
  • Complete a simple hybrid course-planning outline.

There will be two live and interactive sessions (also recorded): Monday, September 19, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. PT, and Friday, September 23, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. PT. You will also need to put aside an hour a day to work on the course materials and contribute to the course discussion.

Your FLO facilitator for this course is Kate Milne. Kate (she/her) is a post-secondary instructor at Douglas College. She also owns a consulting business where she has been designing and building online and hybrid courses for government and non-profit clients since 2011. She believes hybrid courses can be a highly effective way to deliver course material while providing flexibility to learners.

This MicroCourse has a non-refundable registration fee of $25.
