In the past few years, we have lived through a rise in incidents across the country where people have been targeted because of their sexual orientation, ethnicity, or faith. These incidents are often rooted in fear or lack of knowledge and understanding. There is a critical need for educators and other professionals to understand the individual and systemic factors that fuel and perpetuate racism and to learn to respond in ways that turn words into action. Join us in this FLO MicroCourse to grow your understanding and learn how to take action.
In this one-week course, we will:
- Deliberate on our individual and collective understanding of what constitutes racism.
- Envision approaches to working as anti-racist individuals.
- Develop strategies for working in online environments, including reflection and action.
