Rice University’s free textbook initiative, OpenStax College, provides free peer-written, peer-reviwed textbooks that allow for students to have immediate access on DAY ONE for your course; no sign-in required!

They currently have free textbooks in Physics, Sociology, Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Statistics, Math, Economics, Chemistry, History, and Psychology. They are developing additional books in the math and sciences over the next couple of years. During this presentation, Nicole Finkbeiner, will cover commons barriers to student success and how to over come them, demonstrate how to access the free textbooks and how to access the faculty-only resources (which do required sign-in) and answer any questions you have about the books or the initiative. #OAweek
