Metacognition: Rethinking the Role of Thinking in Learning

Description: When does learning happen – while doing the activity, or after, while thinking about what you did and what you learned? During this MicroCourse, you will be invited to reflect on what you already know about metacognition, to review selected articles about the role of metacognitive activities in the learning process and to design metacognitive activities that could be applied to your own courses. You will also be invited to give feedback to fellow participants’ activities and receive feedback and revise your own activities.

Facilitating Learning Online – MicroCourses are short, single-topic, hands-on/practical and free. In one week you will have an opportunity to dip into the FLO experience and leave with something practical and useful for your own teaching practice.
