SFU – Open Education in Action at SFU

This event is supported in part by BCcampus in celebration of Open Education Week 2024. Learn more about our Open Education Week Funding.

Open education is a growing movement that seeks to advance affordable, accessible and flexible learning through the development and use of open educational resources (OER) and open pedagogy.

In celebration of Open Education Week (March 4-8, 2024), please join us for a panel of SFU instructors, students and staff leading open education projects and exploring open practices in the classroom to learn:

  • Why and how they became interested in open educational resources (OER) and/or practices
  • What kinds of open education projects and/or initiatives they have been working on
  • How the use of OER and/or open pedagogy impacts teaching and learning
  • Where to get further support with OER and open education at SFU

  • Meghan Danyluk, Undergraduate Honours Student, SFU English
  • Nicky Didicher, University Lecturer, SFU English
  • Michael Filimowicz, Senior Lecturer, SFU’s School of Interactive Arts & Technology
