Supporting Survivors Facilitator’s Workshop

*Note: This session has passed. Please view the resources and recording below.

This 90-minute session will take a deep dive into the Supporting Survivors: Training and Facilitation Guide. Participants will learn how to navigate the resource, explore facilitation tips, test activities, and have time for discussion and connection. We encourage participants to review the resource ahead of time, if possible, and to come with any questions or ideas for implementation on their campus. This session is appropriate for professional staff members as well as student facilitators.

Presenter:

Matty Hillman (he/him), MA (CYC), is a child and youth care instructor at Selkirk College in the beautiful Kootenay region of B.C., the traditional territory of the Sinixt people. His research interests include sexual violence prevention and response on post-secondary campuses, healthy masculinities, and critical youth mentorship. As a muralist, he is especially interested in the intersection of youth work and public art, exploring the opportunity these complementary practices create for empowerment, community building, and social justice advancements. Readers may contact Matty at mhillman@selkirk.ca and access his full bio at http://selkirk.ca/faculty/matthew-matty-hillman.

This event is free. To ensure we have an inclusive and welcoming environment for all, we’ve added registration to all our sessions.
