Through this session we will explore practical and fun ways of cultivating meaningful relationships while promoting student engagement, motivation, and active participation. We will delve into the importance of intercultural awareness, empathy, and embodiment in the virtual space. Let’s get you ready to promote social-emotional learning and critical perspectives while teaching in the digital age!

Facilitators: Valeria Cortés (she/her) brings over 25 years of experience working and consulting internationally in higher education. As an associate faculty member at Royal Roads University, Val is committed to cultivating meaningful learning experiences for online learners. She is currently a member of a team researching the impact of employment-focused programs for Indigenous learners at Royal Roads.
