Dr. Jonathan Verrett, an Instructor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC), is investigating the economics of developing open textbooks to compare the development and costs through a lens of open textbooks vs. commercial publisher resources.

Through research and evaluation, the Faculty Fellows Dr. Jennifer Barker from Douglas College; Ken Jeffery, Instructional Designer at Royal Roads University (RRU); and Dr. George Veletsianos, Canada Research Chair in Innovative Learning and Technology at Royal Roads University (RRU), collaborated on the creation of a report to address and identify Eight Patterns of Open Textbook Adoption in British Columbia.
